In this collaborative art project, each student designed a unique puzzle piece that visually represents an act of kindness—either one they have done, witnessed, or aspire to do. Students can express their ideas through symbols, color, pattern, text, or imagery, allowing for differentiated approaches. Once completed, all puzzle pieces were assembled into a large mural, symbolizing how small, individual actions come together to build a caring and supportive community. The mural celebrates empathy, inclusion, and the power of kindness through collective art-making. Students with a wide range of abilities can succeed, and no prior drawing experience is necessary to meaningfully participate. The project helps students to reflect on and internalize positive behaviors and how their actions affect others. Contributing to a shared artwork helps students to foster a sense of belonging and purpose.
